oms_drinking_coffeeGreat news for lovers and coffee drinkers in Brazil and worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Wednesday (15) a study that proves that coffee does not cause cancer. The opinion was prepared by 23 experts from the IARC.

According to this new study, the IARC experts concluded that coffee, if consumed within three or four cups a day (150 ml) can also protect against two forms of cancer: liver and uterus.

For Luciana Florencio, Executive Director of Cecafe, the new opinion is important because it enhances the quality and healthiness of coffee consumption. ” More than 1,000 studies on the drink were analyzed in the last 25 years, the IARC experts said there is no evidence of the relationship with cancer of any kind,” says the executive.
